Unox, a leader in professional ovens, merges technology with culinary expertise to support chefs in achieving excellence. The company challenged us to create a digital experience that leverages data to enhance precision and creativity in the kitchen. Through intuitive interfaces and data visualizations, we designed a product that empower chefs to experiment, learn, and perfect their craft, seamlessly blending artistry with cutting-edge technology.

  3. My Role: I led the product design for the project, creating the initial wireframe designs, the hierarchy of information and the overall contact with the clients. I coordinated the following phases and finalized the visual model for the dataset. In close collaboration with the development team, I designed the interactions across the website to ensure a seamless user experience.

Challenges

The main challenges in this project were dealing with a complex flow of data from various oven models and designing an interface that was immediately clear to non-technical users. Given the fast-paced nature of a kitchen environment, the focus was on creating a user-friendly platform that chefs could understand and operate under pressure. The design needed to be intuitive and provide quick, actionable insights, allowing users to manage oven performance and cooking processes without confusion. Additionally, ensuring scalability and customization for both small and large-scale kitchen operations added complexity to the task.

Approach

  1. Data Integration & Real-Time Monitoring

    The project began by consolidating data streams from various Unox ovens, each with distinct capabilities. This allowed for seamless real-time monitoring of oven performance, regardless of the model or scale of operation. The goal was to create a centralized system that could process and display data efficiently


  2. Co-Design and User-Centered Design

    The platform was designed with a focus on usability, ensuring that both small businesses and large-scale operations could easily access and interpret complex data. I conduced numerous co-design session with professionals to find the most user-friendly interface, in order to empowers customers to monitor and analyze oven activities effortlessly.


  3. Smart Features for Efficiency

    Key features like recipe standardization and trend analysis were integrated to help users save time and optimize production. By analyzing cooking trends and usage patterns, the platform allows users to anticipate demand and adjust workflows accordingly, improving both quality and efficiency.


  4. Operational Optimization & Scalability

    Special attention was given to supporting large-scale operations with comprehensive monitoring tools. Managers can track performance metrics, optimize oven usage, and reduce energy costs. The platform also enables remote operation, providing an added layer of control to streamline operations and maintain consistency across locations.
