Challenges

This project required overcoming several technical and narrative complexities.

One of the main challenges was translating intricate sustainability data into an engaging and immersive digital experience.

The platform had to balance interactive 3D animations and ambient soundscapes with clear storytelling, ensuring the information remained both accessible and compelling. Responsiveness across all devices and smooth integration of the visual elements without sacrificing performance were key hurdles. It was essential to maintain visual attraction while keeping the narrative central to communicating Terna’s sustainability vision.

Approach

Throughout the project, we collaborated closely with the client to fully grasp their sustainability goals and communication objectives. The meetings allowed us to align on key messaging and storytelling. We explored multiple aesthetic directions, experimenting with different visual styles and interactive elements to best convey Terna’s mission. After finalizing the concept, internal user testing on company screens helped us fine-tune both functionality and design. This trial period ensured a smooth, engaging experience before the platform was fully released to a wider audience.

  • My role: In the preliminary phase I created the user flows and wireframe to communicate the project to the client. Once approved by the PM, I entirely designed the website in close collaboration with the development department given the complexities of the project. The 3D objects were partially designed by me and partially by an external freelance.
